Body Shimmer Transfers to Clothes

Body shimmer transfers to clothes when it is layered too thickly, applied over lotion that has not absorbed, or left unset. Thin it out and let it dry before dressing.

The fix

Save
  1. blot the shimmered area with tissue to lift excess oil
  2. buff the edges with a soft brush so no thick layer remains
  3. dust a tiny amount of translucent body powder over high-transfer areas
  4. wait until the skin feels dry before putting on tight or dark clothing

If it’s still not right

  • Keep shimmer away from areas where straps, waistbands, or sleeves rub.
  • Choose a quick-dry body glow for events with delicate clothing.

Prevent it next time

  • Apply body lotion earlier, then shimmer once the skin is dry.
  • Use less product on the chest, shoulders, and arms if clothing will touch them.

Notes

Why this works

Transfer happens when glow product stays mobile on the skin. A beautiful sheen can still be a thin layer; the thick oily layer is what fabric grabs.

Blotting and buffing keep the glow but remove the excess. Powdering only the contact points prevents obvious smears while leaving the exposed skin luminous.
