Spray Tan Creases at Elbows
Spray tan creases at elbows when extra color settles into dry folds. Moisturizing bends and blending the crease softens the dark line.

The fix
- gently buff the dark crease with a damp washcloth
- apply body lotion to soften the elbow fold
- blend the edge with a cotton swab if the line is narrow
- use gradual tanner on the surrounding area if you need to even the fade
If it’s still not right
- Avoid harsh scrubbing that creates a pale patch around the dark line.
- Cover elbows with a thin layer of lotion before future tans.
Prevent it next time
- Keep elbows straight while tan dries when possible.
- Apply barrier lotion to elbows, knees, ankles, and wrists.
Notes
Why this works
Self-tanner darkens dry, folded areas faster because more product settles there. The fix is controlled fading, not aggressive removal.
Softening the crease and blending the edge makes the tan look more even while it naturally wears down.
Substitutions
