Ridge Filler Looks Streaky
Ridge filler looks streaky when coats are too thick, the brush is overloaded, or nails have oil on the surface. Thin coats smooth better.

The fix
- clean nails with alcohol before base coat
- apply one thin coat of ridge filler and let it level
- add a second thin coat only if ridges still show
- finish with polish or top coat after the base dries
If it’s still not right
- Roll the bottle gently if the formula looks separated.
- Use a sheer polish over ridge filler if full color highlights streaks.
Prevent it next time
- Avoid cuticle oil until after the manicure is dry.
- Let each coat settle before adding the next.
Notes
Why this works
Ridge filler works by leveling texture, but it needs space to settle. Too much product creates new texture in the form of streaks.
Cleaning the nail and using thin layers lets the base coat smooth the surface without becoming bulky.
