How to Apply Fake Lashes
Fake lashes lift or poke when the band is too long, the glue is too wet, or placement starts too far into the inner corner. Trim, wait, and press the band close to the lashes.

The fix
- measure the lash against your eye and trim from the outer edge if the band is too long
- apply a thin layer of glue and wait until it turns tacky before placing the lash
- set the center first, then press the outer and inner corners into place
- keep the inner corner slightly away from the tear duct so it does not poke or lift
If it’s still not right
- Add a tiny dot of glue under only the lifted corner and press again.
- Cut a strip lash into halves if a full band keeps popping up.
Prevent it next time
- Curl natural lashes first so they blend into the strip.
- Use lighter lashes if heavy bands always lift at the corners.

Why this works
False lashes need the right fit before glue can do its job. A band that is too long creates tension at both corners, so even strong glue has to fight the shape of the lash. Trimming from the outer edge keeps the inner corner softer and more comfortable.
Waiting for glue to get tacky is the step that makes placement easier. Tacky glue grabs quickly, while wet glue smears and slides. Placing the center first anchors the lash, then each corner can be pressed into the natural lash line without shifting the whole strip.
